COWG to Meet Oct. 23, 6:30 PM, Redmond Library

Learning how to approach book sellers to promote your book is hard for most writers as they tend to be introverts. Tina Davis, owner of Camalli Books, Bend, has just returned from the Pacific Northwest Book Sellers conference where she sat in on a lot of discussions about how small press authors should approach book sellers. She’ll offer what she learned when she presents "How to Promote Your Book the Right Way" at the October 23rd Central Oregon Writers Guild meeting.

Davis has a degree in Journalism and was a reporter and anchor at KVAL in Eugene in the early 90s. She moved into promotional writing, first for a financial firm, and then for the publishing industry. Before opening the bookstore, she ran her own business as a promotional writer for educational publishers. After 10 years in publishing Davis opened Camalli Books on the west side of Bend and just celebrated the store's one year anniversary in August.
