Reminder: April 23, 2009 Meeting

COWG's Thursday, April 23 meeting will feature member and blog expert Tia Linschied, who will talk about how to set up and best use websites and blogs to market our writing. The internet has become an increasingly valuable avenue for writers to publish, publicize and sell their work and to interact with their readers. Tia's presentation will show how to establish and maintain blogs, how to get sites noticed on the internet, and how to ensure blog safety. Tia will also talk about ways writers can make the most of other current technology.

Tia is senior editor of www.HomeschoolBlogger.com, where she manages a team of writers for the HSB Company Porch, a blogzine website. She is also the marketing assistant for The Old Schoolhouse Magazine where she helps publish enewsletters and articles related to home schooling. Tia established and manages our Central Oregon Writers Guild blog. You can visit her personal blog, Sagerat Scrabbles at http://www.HomeschoolBLogger.com/sagerats

Following her presentation, Tia will conduct a writing-related exercise with the focus on blog content and maintenance. No critique session is scheduled for the meeting.

The Thursday April 23 meeting will take place at the Central Oregon Community College Redmond Campus, 2030 SE College Loop, Building 3 Room 306, just off Airport Way.
