Meet the Author--June 16, 2009, 5 - 6 PM

Breaking Into Print in Short Fiction
Central Oregon Writers Guild's Meet the Author
Tuesday, June 16, 2009, 5 - 6 PM
El Caporal Mexican Restaurant
2570 NE Twin Knolls Drive #108, Bend, OR

Beth Groundwater, author of the Claire Hanover gift basket designer mystery series and of eight published short stories, will discuss strategies for breaking into print in short fiction and how your short fiction publishing credits can be used to query agents and editors for longer fiction works. She’ll discuss how to find markets and contests and what to watch out for in those venues.

As the Colorado “networking queen”, Beth also will share how she used networking to connect with her first agent and editor and how she continues to use networking in her writing career. Questions are welcome!

Please join Beth afterward at her 6:30 – 7:30 pm signing at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, The Forum, 2690 NE Highway 20, Bend, OR.

Here are some on-line short-fiction market research websites that Beth recommends:
