At our Thursday July 23 meeting, award-winning Bend author Suzanne Burns will read from her latest novel Misfits and Other Heroes. A question-and-answer session will follow Suzanne’s reading, at which time participants will have the opportunity to learn from her experience as a successful writer. Suzanne's piece "Casting Call" won third place in Central Oregon Writers Guild’s 2008 Literary Harvest contest.
The meeting also features member and humor writer Jo Ann Senior who will present a craft exercise on the topic, “How to Incorporate Humor into Your Writing”. Jo Ann was a winner in the 2008 Literary Harvest contest with her entry “Revenge of the Devilish Donut". The Chapbook with all the 2008 winning entries is available for purchase at the meeting.
COWG meets at the Central Oregon Community College Redmond Campus, 2030 SE College Loop, Building 3 Room 306, 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Meetings are free and open to the public.
