GUILD AUTHORS FEATURED ON KRISTI MILLER'S NOV. 7th TV PROGRAM

We are pleased to announce that Guild authors Pat Wilson, Paty Jager and Ava Wilson will be featured on Kristi Miller's new program, myWindow, next Wednesday, November 7th at Noon on KBNZ-CBS for Central Oregon, channel 6 and 606. The show is focused on writing and in particular, local authors. The program will air again at 6:30 and 11:00 p.m. on BendBroadband's COTV, channel 11 and 611. It is also available on Free Video on Demand under the date it airs.

A long-time Bend TV host, Kristi Miller's new program focuses on a variety of topics of interest to Central Oregon viewers. Her debut show aired Monday October 29 and airs each weekday at Noon on the channels listed above. Be sure to check your Cable Provider's schedule so you won't miss Kristi's shows (channels may vary). Set your DVR or TIVO next Wednesday to record the show for later viewing if you are unable to watch the episodes when they air. We can be certain that Pat, Paty and Ava will do us proud during their segment, and we welcome Kristi back to the airwaves as she continues with her usual excellent programming.

About Us

CENTRAL OREGON WRITERS GUILD
Founded in 2002, Central Oregon Writers Guild's mission is to provide Central Oregon area writers a forum for mutual support and education through meetings, critique groups, annual events and workshops. Our goal is to advance growth and success for individual writers of all genres and skill levels. The Guild is a not-for-profit organization, where volunteers coordinate the group's activities.

MEETINGS
Guild meetings take place on the fourth Thursday of each month, except for November and December, where we offer programs featuring authors, editors, agents and publishers to speak on topics of interest to writers at all skill levels. Meetings are free and open to the public. Regular blog updates provide details about programs, speakers, and locations.

MEMBERSHIP
Membership is open to writers at all skill levels and genres, as well as anyone interested in writing. Annual dues are $20, prorated quarterly, and renewal is $18. LITERARY HARVEST
The Guild's Annual Literary Harvest features a writing contest open to members and local area residents. The contest opens in June, and guidelines for entry will be posted on the blog in May. Winners are selected by a volunteer panel of judges. The top ten winners read their stories at the Harvest in early October. Their winning pieces are published in the Literary Harvest Chapbook, which is available for purchase at the Guild meetings, as well as local book stores.

REDMOND SCHOOL DISTRICT FOURTH GRADE BOOK CONTEST
In partnership with the High Desert Society of the Arts, Redmond Rotary Club and Redmond Library, Central Oregon Writers Guild sponsors the annual Redmond School District’s 4th Grade Book Contest. The contest is open to Redmond School District 4th grade students, including those who attend Christian schools and home schooled students who are at the 4th grade level. HDSA and Guild members make classroom presentations to offer students guidance as they write and illustrate their books. The contest opens in September, and information is posted on the blog.

CRITIQUE GROUPS
