Local Poet, Cameron Prow to Present “Sharing the Children of Your Heart” to Central Oregon Writers Guild

Sharing their work in public can be one of the most difficult and excruciating tasks for even the most seasoned writer. Cameron Prow, local poet and founder of TYPE-Write II, Bend, hopes to ease the task for writers that wish to speak and read for the public, when she presents “Sharing the Children of Your Heart” at the August 28 Central Oregon Writers Guild meeting.

Prow states, “I will share my experience of reading my work in public, and offer tips to make each reading experience more rewarding for the writer and the audience.” Prow has been a featured reader at various events, including PoetsWest, Fall Literary Harvest, From the Heart, People of Letters & Lyrics, and Readings in Remembrance. Her poetry and short writings have been published in PoetsWest Literary Journals, Fishtrap Anthology V, The Bulletin, Cascade Reader, Focus on Friends, Organized Chaos, Reflections: A Collection of Central Oregon Writings, and other publications and anthologies.

Central Oregon Writers Guild is a group of established and aspiring writers, who meet at 6:30 PM on the fourth Thursday of each month for a writing-related presentation, refreshments and a critique session. The meeting takes place at the Redmond Library, 827 SW Deschutes, Redmond, Oregon. Visitors and prospective members are welcome. For more information about the meeting or critique groups, call 388-0836.
