AUTHOR JILL WILLIAMSON FEATURED SPEAKER AT
THURSDAY MARCH 28 GUILD MEETING

Award-winning novelist Jill Williamson is the featured speaker at Central Oregon Writers Guild’s Thursday March 28 meeting. Author of several Young Adult books, Jill will talk about her writer’s journey, beginning with the inspiration for her stories to their eventual publication. Her debut novel By Darkness Hid, the first in her Blood of Kings series, won the 2010 Christy Award and was named one of VOYA Magazine’s Best Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Books of 2009. In 2012, she released the popular futurist novel, Replication. In addition to writing, Jill also hosts blog tours for other Young Adult authors, and conducts writing workshops at libraries, schools, camps and churches. Central Oregon Writers Guild’s Thursday March 28 meeting takes place at COCC Redmond Campus, 2030 SE College Loop, Building 3 Room 309, 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. The meeting is free and everyone is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served and Jill’s books will be available for purchase.

Award-winning author Rick Steber spoke at our February 28 meeting, where he read from several of his novels. He talked about his writing career, and shared his experience and expertise with an enthusiastic audience. Thursday April 25—Featured speaker is Central Oregon Magazine editor Kim Cooper Findling. Special presentations by Redmond School District’s 4th Grade Book Writing Contest first place winner and runner-up. Winner Shelby McCauley presents High Buzzing Adventure, and runner-up Jessica Simpson reads her story, Cowgirl Love. The meeting location is COCC Redmond Campus, Building 3, Room 309.
