Just a gentle reminder that Guild members and Central Oregon authors have the opportunity to enter their fiction/non-fiction/essays/memoirs and poetry in our annual Literary Harvest Writing Contest.

For details, click on the Literary Harvest tab at the top of this page. Prizes are given and the top ten finalists will read their entries at the Literary Harvest event on Friday, October 18, 2013. If you have any questions about the contest, please email

Entries can be submitted via snail mail at the address listed in the Rules and Guidelines, or in person at the July 25 or August 22 Guild meetings.

Attention! Special perk! Entrants are invited to read their pieces at our August 22 Readers Showcase, which will take place at the COCC Redmond Campus, Building 3 Room 309, 6:30 p.m. Availability is limited, so submit your request to read as soon as possible to Contest Coordinator Mike Rettig at

As you know, the Harvest is our premier event, and while the contest is open to non-members in this area, we especially encourage our members to participate. This is your contest! It’s the chance to share writing and showcase it in a writer friendly environment. An opportunity to advance growth for individual writers of all genres and skill levels.

The countdown clock is ticking, click HERE to see just how fast the time is flying!
